God wants to pardon you and grant you mercy
God wants to give you peace and joy
However, sometimes we find that hard to grasp because Isaiah 55: 8 reminds us that the Lord’s thoughts are not our thoughts and our ways are not the Lord’s ways
So the question pressed upon my heart are what are my ways and my thoughts Lord?
Are they evil (thoughts) ? Are they wicked (ways) ? Evil and wicked are terms that refer to reprehensible behavior towards what is moral or valued. In order to determine if our thoughts and ways are wicked and evil…we must determine what we deem moral or valued. Such values would include what God promises us which are states of being that include mercy, grace, joy and peace.
As a result of this understanding, the question pressed upon my heart ; once again are what are my ways and my thoughts Lord?
Are they indeed evil (thoughts) ? Are they indeed wicked (ways)? towards whom and why? And if they are, I have resolved to respond with… I just don’t believe that and I’m not going there!!!!
Our thoughts become beliefs that guide our actions
If you think about failure long enough, you will begin to believe it has a reality in your life that will guide failing ways
If you think about past hurts long enough, you will begin to believe those past hurts have a reality in your life that will guide hurtful ways
If you think about what isn’t going well in your life long enough, you will begin to believe what isn’t right is your present reality that will guide ways of defeat
So what are your ways? What are your thoughts? Do we truly know what is in our best interest as God does?
God’s Word through Isaiah 55 reminds us that we have a choice…We can turn away from evil thoughts and wicked ways to receive his peace and joy. He wants our soul to delight. He wants us to live. He wants to make us witnesses, leaders and commanders where people are drawn to our splendor.
When thoughts about failure pop up; which is contrary to what God says; respond with “I just don’t believe that.”
When thoughts about past hurt pop up; which is contrary to what God says; respond with “I just don’t believe that.”
When thoughts about defeat pop up; which is contrary to what God says; respond with “I just don’t believe that.”
When you’re tempted to go a way that leads you into failing behavior…Remember what God has secured for you and simply say…”I’m not going there.”
When you’re tempted to go a way that leads you into hurtful behavior…Remember what God has secured for you and simply say…”I’m not going there.”
When you’re tempted to go a way that leads you into defeating behavior…Remember what God has secured for you and simply say…”I’m not going there.”
Our thoughts should be on God to direct our way.
Lord my ways are not your ways. My thoughts are not your thoughts…so guide my thoughts and ways that are your own. For I believe it will work out in my best interest to do so; anything contrary to such; I just don’t believe that and I’m not going there!!!!!
